EVENT ELIGIBILITY

Participation Requirement: Any individual archer who is a member of the NFAA or another IFAA-affiliated member association and who holds a valid Classification Card (Handicap Card in the NFAA) is eligible to participate.

Card Requirements: To participate, an archer must present a Classification Card showing at least two tournament scores — with no time limit on when those scores were shot. Scores must come from a 28 target or 2x14 target Field or Hunter Round, or alternatively a round consisting of 1x14 target Field combined with 1x14 target Hunter.

Score Verification: Scores obtained must be recorded on an official IFAA Classification Card or NFAA Handicap Card, including the date scored, round type, and verification by a tournament official. Scores shot at an NFAA sectional or national championship may be verified onsite by NFAA staff.

At Check-in: Each archer is required to present his/her official Classification Card or NFAA Handicap Card upon event check-in to ensure that the archer is in good standing within the IFAA and/or NFAA and to determine the proper classification of that archer.

CLASSIFICATION ELIGIBILITY & PROCEDURES

Note: The rules below determine which class (A, B or C) an archer competes in — this is separate from the eligibility requirement above. Classification procedures utilize a 12-month scoring window.

Classification of an archer shall be determined by the archer's two highest scores, obtained in the twelve-month period immediately prior to the tournament.
In the event no two score records are obtained in the same class-score-range over the twelve months immediately prior to the tournament, the time frame will be extended until three score records are obtained. The two scores within the same class-score-range will determine the classification of the archer. No score recorded twenty-four months prior to the tournament shall be considered.
Classification is done by shooting style. An archer who shoots more than one style may have more than one classification. In the event an archer changes style, a new time frame for classification will start from the date of the first recorded score.
An archer who has insufficient score records to be classified shall compete in the highest contested class in his/her style in that tournament.
An archer shall be reclassified to a higher class if he/she obtains two scores in a higher classification range within a twelve-month period, calculated from the date that the first higher class score was obtained. This reclassification process will be repeated until the archer classifies in the “A” class.
An archer shall be reclassified to a lower class if he/she obtains scores of a lower class consistently over a period of not less than twelve months, calculated from the day of the first score used for reclassification.
There are no classification distinctions within the Senior, Veteran or Cub divisions or the Historical shooting style for any age division.
